Secure erasure and data destruction
EPOS data recovery center provides secure erasure and data destruction services on hard drives (HDD),
solid state drives and other media. Depending on drive condition, two algorithms are possible:
- Saving drive's operability
- Without saving drive's operability
Data erasure with saving drive's operability is intended for drives in good condition. The data is erased by
rewriting all the address space, including host protected area (НРА) in compliance with standards DoD 5220.22-M
(USA),
VSITR
(Germany), ГОСТ Р5039
(Ukraine). The duration of the erase procedure depends on the drive's capacity
and wear. This erasing method allows the drive's further usage.
Data erasure without saving HDD's operability is intended for bad or damaged HDDs, as well as for super-secure data destruction. In these cases we use physical data destruction by degaussing with a powerful electromagnetic impulse. The original magnetic structure of the media is destroyed completely, thus leading to a guaranteed and effective destruction of all data ever stored on it. As the service information is destroyed too, the HDD becomes inoperable. Data erasure by this method is done in the presence of the Client.
